Superhero Story Designed To Help Face School Anxiety And More

Let’s Share a Superhero Story is now available on paperback and ebook, joining A Hair Story in the Let’s Share series!

Originally written years ago as my response to fears that were waking my preschooler up night after night, working on A Superhero Story now has taken on a whole new meaning. A book about facing negative feelings by taking a moment to stop, breath, and visualize our inner superhero, it comes just in time to help the kids we love face ever-evolving back-to-school challenges. With constant changes and uncertainty, tough thoughts and emotions have become a part of daily life for so many of our families. I’m proud to be able to offer this book as a tool to use as part of our coping strategies, this fall and into the future. Check out the description below for more details.

You’re used to seeing heroes on screens, in print, and even in person — at home, school, and throughout your community. But where might be the most important place to find a superhero? Right… inside… of… YOU!

Let’s Share a Superhero Story is a rhyming children’s picture book featuring inclusive illustrations with a diverse range of skin tones and styling. A Superhero Story is about pushing past difficult feelings to find inner power and peace. Beginning with relatable examples, it engages and empowers children to acknowledge challenging situations and emotions. It goes on to show how taking a moment to stop, breathe, and visualize can help you recognize, and remember, that you already possess the qualities and abilities you need to overcome any obstacle. We all have an inner superhero!

Part of the inclusive Let’s Share social and emotional wellness series, A Superhero Story introduces a mysterious character only to reveal its identity as your child’s own internal superhero! A special gift, this book is a fun yet mindful way to contribute to:

  • Greater behavior management, social and emotional learning, and overall wellness.
  • More diverse libraries, inclusive classrooms, and empowering schools.
  • More nurturing environments, caring homes, and mindful lives.
  • More self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-esteem.

It’s not always easy to feel super, even though you most certainly are! No matter how you’re feeling or what you’re going through, your powers never leave you. You have super strength, a super mind, and a super heart… Together they make a superhero who’s ready and waiting to help you through even the most demanding times!

Whatever the background… Whatever the obstacle… Let’s Share a Superhero Story reminds readers that you can work through anything more mindfully when you activate The Superhero Inside You!

Let’s Share a Superhero Story is available on Amazon as well as other retailers. Check the Let’s Share series page for all purchase options.

The success of A Hair Story was as unexpected as it is heartwarming. I hope you find this next book in the series just as special. I look forward to hearing how it’s welcomed in your homes and classrooms (which for some of you may be one in the same!)

I have to admit, after putting so much energy into getting these books out into the world, I’m often exhausted – but I’m urged forward by the inspiration and encouragement of so many amazing people. Thank you all for the work you do to make the world a better place, and for taking me along with you. Next, I return to working on Let’s Share a Hope Story, a touching poem about dealing with prejudice, discrimination, and hate. It’s quite a bit longer than these first two books, and it’s still in the revision phase. I promise you, though, that I am working harder than I ever before to bring this book back to life, because its message just may be more important now than ever.
